Welcome to KeelyStyle! My name is Keely Nations. I am a former two time Miss Colorado and competed on the national level at both the Miss America and Miss USA Pageants.

When I was competing I wanted to be the best of the best and I used many resources and people to do just that. I know I can be a resource for you and coach you to achieve that same goal. Interview Coaching:
In 99% of pageants, the interview is the primary key to success. If the judges like you there, then they will likely score you higher in other competitions. You must do well in the interview to have a chance of winning the crown. After hundreds of speaking engagements and public appearances, plus earning a BA in Communication, I have the winning combination of credentials to coach you on mastering a savvy, fun and enjoyable interview experience.
Paperwork:
As your first chance to make a winning impression, paperwork given to judges is of critical importance. You want to start your win here. As a Communication major and professional fashion blogger/writer who also has a keen sense of what you should include from the first step, I will help you ensure an impressive and solid paperwork submission.
Stage Presence and Talent
Poise and stage presence are key to winning on-stage competitions, whether it is the swimsuit, sportswear or evening gown competitions. As a professional model and professional performer, I mastered this poise and confidence and will use those same philosophies to guide you to take your talent performance to the next level. I will teach you techniques to use the stage appropriately and how to connect with the audience and “wow” the judges. I will work one on one with you to also perfect your walk and exude confidence on stage.
Make-Up/Hair:
Obviously, when competing we all want to look our best. I believe that we can not only look our best while competing but also on a daily basis. I can help you achieve a look that allows you to be true to yourself and style while also achieving this ‘best’ look each and every day. I will introduce and teach you how to apply day time as well as a night time make up looks along with stage make up so you are ready for competition! Skin care and regimen will be discussed and appropriate products will be recommended. We will also discuss your hair style and combine it with your overall look and goal to recommend the best look for you through each phase of competition. The overall new look will be marketed to the judges while staying true to your personality and goals.
Wardrobe:
Clothes send a HUGE message; and combined with the winning look we put together with your hair and make-up this is where you can be yourself and communicate your true personality. Style is all about taking risks but making sure they are appropriate – this leads to making a great impression! I will help you set yourself apart from the competition by making just a few changes in your current style and wardrobe. It is imperative that the proper, winning message is sent. With years of experience in competing and judging pageants and also training contestants, I will advise on color, cut, style, trend, appropriateness, tricks to disguising body areas and playing up your assets. We will package the whole personality in one fabulously polished look.
Platform Perfection:
In 1989, the Miss America Organization founded the platform concept, which requires each contestant to choose an issue about which she cares deeply and that is of relevance to our country. Once chosen, Miss America and the state titleholders use their stature to address community service organizations, business and civic leaders, the media and others about their platform issues. Since 1989, Miss America titleholders have appeared at thousands of public speaking engagements and charitable events to generate awareness for a variety of causes, including homelessness, HIV/AIDS prevention, domestic violence, diabetes awareness, character education, literacy, etc. (www.missamerica.org) I will work with you to perfect a platform that you have already chosen by exploring local resources and events for you to participate in and to create awareness. If you have not yet chosen a platform I will work with you to select a platform that you will build on as you compete each year.

I believe that every person brings outstanding qualities and beauty to this world. I believe that we all have the desire and capacity to recognize those qualities and put them to their most abundant use. I value the individuality in all of us, and have long been told that I have a unique capacity to connect with and appreciate every person I meet. My personal joy comes in helping bring out the best in others. Enhancing ourselves starts with appreciating our uniqueness and individuality.
